Love those chase scenes? The hot cars? The burnouts, elusive maneuvers and the way the heroes – or villains – meet the need for speed?
Cars have long played an integral role in movies, either as a character (think “Herbie the Love Bug”) or the tool that (pardon the expression) drives the plot, as in Bullitt’s famous chase scene.
Watch ‘em when you can. They’re exciting, fun, noisy, and occasionally filled with crashes. We also include some fun facts about these movies courtesy of IMDB trivia.
#25: “Duel” (1971)
Steven Spielberg directs Dennis Weaver as an innocent motorist pursued by a maniacal trucker (who is never seen). Weaver’s fears are palpable as the truck smashes through gas stations and phone booths in pursuit of the terrified, mystified driver.
Cars featured in the movie include:
- 1941 Cadillac
- 1942 Packard Clipper Club Sedan 2000
- 1949 Plymouth Special De Luxe Club Coupe P-18
