The modern traveler is not looking for mobility alone but a combination of services that make his ride more valuable and maximizes his time on the road. Technology has greatly enhanced this requirement with several tools to offer essential and nonessential services to car uses.
Bentley has become the latest automaker to offer its customers an advanced technology usage by providing uninterrupted mobile network coverage. Through the Bentley Advanced Connectivity WiFi system, passengers now have access to enhanced entertainment and business applications. Among them is high definition video streaming across several devices, Bentley Skype for Business, virtual office applications (including access and editing of files) video conferencing as well as multiple meetings options.
This service has been developed in conjunction with global communications company Viasat. The service can integrate up to three mobile network operators on the same signal and still maintain high and quality signal receptions.
This advanced service places Bentley at a highly competitive space especially at a time when car makers are continuously developing systems that can cater for futuristic needs. Bentley says that the connectivity services will be available to all its models beginning 2019.
The advanced driving assistance system is being utilized broadly with technology companies including Apple and Google venturing into space. Amazon’s voice service tool Alexa has also found its way into vehicle systems, denoting a growing need for integration of interactive technologies in cars.
