Previously, we mentioned that Audi was preparing to bid farewell to the R8 supercar through a special edition known as the R8 V10 Performance RS Final Edition. Recent leaks have revealed images of a prototype in the pre-production stage making rounds on social media.
The images imply that the RS Final Edition may come equipped with additional aerodynamic features such as a fixed rear spoiler and dual canards at the front. Other enhancements like carbon fiber upgrades are also anticipated.
As per insider information, the ‘Final Edition’ is expected to retain the same 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 engine found in the existing model. Nevertheless, there are speculations that the engine might be tweaked to deliver 650 horsepower in this variant. This adjustment is particularly significant as it marks the end of an era for the R8 V10 with a traditional internal combustion engine.
The Audi R8 V10 Performance RS Final Edition is projected to have a limited production run. It is slated to be officially revealed in the autumn of 2022.
