The British carmaker has hinted at the production of the John Cooper Works GP concept in 2020, following its unveiling in 2017.
The current model is a track-focused car with high-performance capabilities, drawing inspiration from the Mini JCW GP and Mini Cooper S JCW GP series released in 2012 and 2006, respectively. Both previous models were limited to only 2,000 units for the general market.
The new model will feature a broader bumper, carbon-fiber components to reduce weight, and wider fenders to enhance its appearance.
Specific technical details about the engine remain undisclosed. It is expected to offer either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, with an anticipated increase in horsepower from the 189 horsepower found in the 2018 Cooper S model.
The demand for this car is likely to be high due to its past success and anticipated enhancements.
In addition, the company is preparing to unveil a limited edition variant known as the JWC Knights Edition at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show. This special edition will be available in Midnight Black with silver and red accents.
