Renowned Italian car maker Alfa Romeo has revealed its subcompact SUV for 2020 dubbed the Alfa Romeo Tonale. This breathtaking concept stands out by virtue of its combination of style and brand-firsts.
Underneath, the Tonale shares the platform with the Jeep Renegade but gets several updates on the chassis. A new suspension and upgraded brakes are also grace what will be Alfa Romeo’s first plug-in hybrid. It shares the technology with its sisters Giulia saloon and Stelvio SUV.
The Tonale is distinct as it pairs a gasoline internal-combustion engine with an electric drivetrain. The company is yet to reveal exactly what the drivetrain will look like.
The four-seat interior features are equally phenomenal. The infotainment system takes up a massive 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster while the central touchscreen carries 10.2 inches.
Installed also is Alfa Romeo’s social network called Alfista as well as an in-car market place called Paddock. With Paddock, you can buy performance upgrade equipment right from the dashboard.
The Tonale is by all standards a very futuristic car and its production will significantly increase Alfa Romeo’s voice in the EV market. Most importantly, it signals the brand’s willingness to continue building reputable products that have a futuristic outlook.
