Nissan recently reached out to its fans on social media to gather suggestions for the annual Overland Expo West show in Flagstaff, Arizona. The outcome was the transformation of a Nissan Armada into a unique and remarkable vehicle.
The Armada Mountain Patrol was specifically crafted for overlanding adventures. This means that every modification made to the vehicle was aimed at enhancing its off-road capabilities and making it a more comfortable mobile campsite.
The project began with a standard 2018 Armada 4WD, equipped with a 390-hp 5.6-liter V-8 engine and a seven-speed automatic transmission. Nissan then made several enhancements, such as installing 17-inch Icon Bronze Rebound wheels with 35-inch Nitto Ridge Grappler tires, a Calmini 6-inch lift kit, and Icon coil-over suspension featuring extended A-arms.
While there were minimal changes to the Armada’s drivetrain, fans of the project suggested additional modifications, including the installation of a set of Baja Designs auxiliary lights and a light bar.
The vehicle was also equipped with a Rhino Rack Backbone roof-mounted cargo system for added convenience. Inside, the modifications included a Lowrance navigation system and a Rugged Radios off-road radio system.
To ensure comfort during the journey, a refrigerator, freezer combo, Otterbox Venture cooler, and extra storage trays were added to help organize the space efficiently. The highlight of the modifications is a roof-mounted tent that can accommodate four people and comes with a retractable ladder for easy access.
