The Bugatti EB110’s engineering team included Paolo Stanzani, while Marcello Gandini provided the design, which drew inspiration from the iconic Lamborghini Countach. The EB110’s striking wedge shape, short front end, and gull-wing doors echoed its predecessor’s aesthetic. At the heart of the vehicle was a short-stroke V12 engine paired with a front-mounted transmission, reminiscent of Lamborghini’s techniques.
With the introduction of the EB110 SS (Super Sport) in 1992, Bugatti pushed boundaries further. This model upped the ante with output reaching over 600 horsepower, achieved through enhancements like a new electronic control unit, bigger fuel injectors, and an improved exhaust system. The car was significantly lighter, shedding 202 kilograms due to its carbon/Kevlar construction and magnesium wheels, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in an astonishing 3.2 seconds and reach an impressive top speed of 216 mph—remarkable feats for a vehicle during that era.
