Relive the iconic Le Mans 1966 story where Ford’s quest to outdo Ferrari culminated in a historic victory. Over the years, various media and cars like the 2004 and 2016 Ford GTs have commemorated this triumph.
However, the lesser-known 1967 triumph of Ford’s Mark IV at Le Mans takes center stage with the introduction of the Ford GT Mark IV. This exclusive track-focused vehicle seamlessly merges cutting-edge technology with a deep racing legacy. Its 800-horsepower engine, distinctive carbon fiber longtail design, and ability to generate over 2,000 kilos of downforce at speeds of 200 mph showcase its remarkable engineering.
Ford claims that this vehicle could lap Le Mans faster than the GTLM that triumphed in the 24-hour race. It aligns more closely with the GT1 class, reminiscent of boundary-pushing race cars like the Mercedes CLK GTR. Limited to just 67 units, these aerodynamically optimized Mark Vs come with a price tag starting at $1.7 million each.
