If you haven’t checked out the Nissan Sentra in a while, now is the perfect time to give it some attention. The 2025 Sentra builds on its reputation as a dependable and value-packed compact sedan. It has a refined exterior, upgraded tech, and improved efficiency. It remains an economical daily driver, but Nissan has introduced subtle refinements to keep it competitive. It goes up against segment leaders like the Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla. Let’s dive into what makes this version of the Sentra stand out.

Exterior: Subtle Sportiness With a Modern Touch

The 2025 Sentra SV showcases a sharp and contemporary design with Nissan’s signature V-Motion grille, now refined with a sleeker pattern. My Test vehicle was a beautiful red called Scarlet Ember. The LED headlights and taillights give it a premium feel, while 17-inch alloy wheels on the SV trim add an element of sportiness. Subtle tweaks to the front and rear bumpers provide a fresh look without straying too far from its familiar aesthetic. It’s an attractive compact sedan that blends in well in urban settings while still exuding a bit of personality.

Interior: Comfort Meets Functionality

Inside, the Sentra SV maintains a clean and driver-centric layout with soft-touch materials on the dashboard and door panels, making it feel more upscale than its price tag suggests. Zero Gravity front seats, a Nissan staple, ensure excellent comfort for long commutes. The 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration is standard, while the dual-zone automatic climate control adds convenience. Rear passengers get ample legroom for a compact sedan, and the 14.3 cubic feet of trunk space is practical for daily errands or road trips. As a taller driver I found the Sentra to be a very comfortable car to drive.

Performance: Reliable and Efficient

The 2025 Sentra SV comes with a 2.0-liter inline-4 engine that delivers 149 horsepower and 146 lb-ft of torque. It’s built for efficiency rather than performance. The Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) provides a smooth and predictable drive, making it a great choice for commuting. Fuel economy is impressive at an estimated 30 mpg in the city and 40 mpg on the highway, helping drivers save on gas. The Sentra is easy to steer, maneuver, and park, making it a great option for first-time drivers. It has just the right amount of power for a confident and comfortable ride.

Driving Experience: Smooth and Composed

The Sentra SV remains one of the more comfortable options in its class, thanks to independent front suspension and rear torsion beam setup that absorbs road imperfections well. Steering is light and precise, making urban navigation a breeze. Nissan’s Active Ride Control and Intelligent Trace Control help maintain stability, particularly on winding roads. While it doesn’t offer the sportiness of some competitors, it’s great for everyday driving.

Safety: A Step Ahead

Safety remains a priority in the 2025 Sentra, with Nissan Safety Shield 360 coming standard. This suite includes automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control. The SV trim also gains Intelligent Driver Alertness, a feature that monitors driver behavior for signs of fatigue. With solid crash-test ratings in previous models, the 2025 Sentra continues to be a reassuring choice for families and commuters alike.

Conclusion: A Well-Rounded Compact Sedan

The 2025 Nissan Sentra SV CVT excels as an affordable, fuel-efficient, and well-equipped compact sedan. With its refined styling, comfortable interior, and solid safety features, it remains a strong contender in its class. While enthusiasts may seek more power or sharper handling, those looking for a practical, reliable, and stylish daily driver will find plenty to appreciate. Starting at an estimated $23,000-$25,000, the Sentra SV delivers impressive value for budget-conscious buyers. My test vehicle came in at $28,035. Nissan is known for reliability and has a lot to offer for the MSRP.
