2025 Genesis GV60 Review: Exceptional Performance And Style

The 2025 Genesis GV60 presents a stylish and enjoyable electric SUV, boasting an appealing design and a range of features that capture attention. However, the question remains: can it compete with the increasing number of compact electric SUVs on the market? Similar to its counterparts, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6, the Genesis GV60 shares several admirable qualities from the Hyundai and Kia models. Nevertheless, it also carves its own niche with unique styling and a more upscale interior.

One of the GV60’s most impressive attributes is its rapid charging capability. The battery can soar from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 18 minutes. Yet, despite its quick charging prowess, the driving range falls slightly short of expectations. The Standard variant delivers an EPA-estimated range of 294 miles, which is fairly competitive, but the Performance variant is restricted to only 235 miles—a potential drawback for those desiring a balance between performance and range.

When considering performance, the GV60 is sure to please. The Performance model generates up to 429 horsepower (or 483 horsepower when utilizing the boost function), allowing this SUV to go from 0 to 60 mph in an exhilarating four seconds. With the addition of an adaptive suspension, its handling feels sporty, making it a surprisingly enjoyable ride on winding roads, near the performance level of some sports cars. Despite the appealing specifications of the Performance model, the limited range and price might leave prospective buyers weighing their options.

The GV60 continues to impress within its cabin, featuring a modern design loaded with technology. Both the 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and the 12.3-inch infotainment screen are sleek and intuitive. Plus, the cabin now includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an eagerly awaited update for the 2025 model. This tech-savvy interior does not compromise on comfort, providing a smooth ride even over rough terrain.

Additionally, the GV60 is available in both single and dual motor configurations, appealing to different driving preferences. The dual-motor model enhances power and traction, but all versions promise a satisfying driving experience that stands out in the electric SUV category. The GV60’s distinctive design adds a touch of sophistication to the electric vehicle landscape, marked by its futuristic and premium aesthetics.

Nevertheless, some significant drawbacks of the GV60 should be acknowledged. While its design is eye-catching, the sloping roofline reduces cargo space, making it less suitable for those who require generous storage. Moreover, its availability is restricted, as the GV60 is not sold in all 50 states.

The price for the 2025 GV60 begins at $53,800 for the basic Standard version with rear-wheel drive, escalating to $71,350 for the top-tier Performance variant. This pricing may be considered on the higher side, particularly for the GV60 Performance. For some consumers, the larger Electrified GV70 from Genesis could present a more attractive option, offering a more spacious interior and better overall value.

Ultimately, the 2025 Genesis GV60 is a notable electric SUV characterized by strong performance, a tech-savvy interior, and rapid charging capabilities. While it shines in terms of driving pleasure and luxurious features, potential buyers will need to consider its restricted driving range, limited cargo space, and higher price point as trade-offs.
