2025 Audi Q4 e-tron Review: Elegance And Comfort Redefined

Audi is broadening its electric vehicle (EV) range, recently unveiling the Q6 e-tron SUV. At the entry-level of its EV offerings, the 2025 Audi Q4 e-tron makes a compelling option for those seeking a compact luxury electric vehicle that harmoniously integrates style, comfort, and functionality. The Q4 e-tron goes head-to-head with formidable contenders such as the Genesis GV60 and the Tesla Model Y. While the Q4 e-tron presents many strengths, it doesn’t necessarily excel in every aspect.

The Q4 e-tron can be purchased in two configurations: a traditional SUV shape or the more coupe-like Sportback variant.

One of the notable strengths of the Q4 e-tron is its ride quality, which successfully combines comfort and performance for a smooth, enjoyable experience. Its spacious cabin is another significant feature, providing ample room for both occupants and cargo. True to Audi’s reputation, the interior showcases meticulous attention to detail, blending modern design with high-quality materials. The overall interior feel is decidedly superior to what is found in the Model Y.

Although the cabin is roomy and elegant, it could benefit from enhanced comfort features. The seats, specifically, fall short of expectations for an Audi; while adequate for short distances, they may become uncomfortable during longer journeys.

On the technology front, the Q4 e-tron features a 10.3-inch digital gauge cluster complemented by an 11.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Both displays are visually appealing, presenting sharp graphics and an intuitive interface that is straightforward to use. Additionally, the Sonos audio system provides an exceptional listening experience, delighting enthusiasts of the brand.

Charging capabilities are another highlight of the Q4 e-tron. It supports DC Fast Charging, with speeds reaching up to 175 kW. This allows users to charge the battery from 10% to 80% in roughly 28 minutes when connected to a DC fast charger, facilitating longer road trips. The 82 kWh battery provides a respectable range of up to 288 miles, although this performance is fairly average for its segment. Should you choose the dual motor all-wheel-drive configuration, the range decreases to 258 miles, which is less competitive.

In terms of power, the Q4 e-tron generates up to 335 horsepower. It can achieve 0-60 mph in about five seconds, but it falls short in acceleration compared to more performance-focused competitors like the Tesla Model Y. The driving dynamics are smooth, yet they lack the exhilarating feel that some rival EVs provide. The experience is more oriented toward comfort than excitement, which may not satisfy every driver. Notably, the Q4 e-tron does not include a one-pedal driving mode, a feature typically expected by EV users.

Moreover, the braking performance is acceptable but not outstanding. The presence of rear drum brakes seems somewhat outdated and less premium, detracting from the overall experience.

The starting price for the 2025 Audi Q4 e-tron is $51,095, while the sportier Q4 Sportback e-tron begins at $59,495.

Ultimately, the 2025 Audi Q4 e-tron is a well-rounded electric vehicle that offers a comfortable driving experience, though it doesn’t emerge as a leader in performance or range. Its design, charging efficiency, and user-friendly technology are clear advantages, making it a strong contender for those in search of a stylish and efficient EV prioritizing comfort. However, for those desiring a more exhilarating driving experience or superior range and charging capabilities, considering other options in the market may be advisable.
