2024 Genesis G70 RWD 3.3T Sport Prestige Review

Introduction
The 2024 Genesis G70 RWD 3.3T Sport Prestige exemplifies a blend of luxury and high performance, targeting drivers who appreciate a dynamic driving experience without sacrificing comfort. Powered by a robust twin-turbocharged V6 engine and equipped with premium features, the G70 continues to stand out in the compact luxury sedan market.

My week with the G70 was truly amazing. I get excited every time I see a Genesis on the list of test vehicles. There is so much packed into this luxury, sports sedan so let’s dig into the details below.

Exterior
With its sleek and athletic profile, the G70 exudes confidence. The Sport Prestige package adds refined touches like 19-inch wheels, a matte-finish Bond Silver paint option, and red Brembo brake calipers that enhance its sporty appeal. The revised front and rear fascias give the G70 a fresh, aggressive look. The twin exhaust tips and wider stance complete the vehicle’s bold aesthetic, ensuring it turns heads wherever it goes. Funny story, we attended a birthday party of  a family member and she told everyone at the party I was driving a Bentley. I did finally convince her it wasn’t and as I took her for a drive she commented how she had been thinking the Genesis line was a Bentley the whole time and now she is shopping for a new Genesis. This car has an effect on people and it gets a lot of compliments.

Interior

The G70’s cabin is a luxurious retreat, featuring quilted Nappa leather seats, a microfiber suede headliner, and high-quality materials throughout. Front seats are both heated and ventilated, with 16-way power adjustments for the driver, including lumbar support and side bolsters. The center console is neatly arranged, with a 10.25-inch infotainment display offering easy access to navigation and audio controls. Despite the elegant design, rear-seat legroom is somewhat limited, though back-seat passengers enjoy amenities like heated seats and a USB-C charging port.

Engine and Transmission
At the heart of the G70 is a 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 engine producing 365 horsepower and 376 lb-ft of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. This combination delivers exhilarating acceleration, with the G70 clocking a 0-60 mph time of just 4.5 seconds. The electronically controlled suspension and limited-slip differential, part of the Sport Prestige package, further enhance the driving dynamics, allowing for sharp cornering and a smooth ride. While the transmission shifts efficiently in Comfort mode, it truly shines in Sport and Sport+ modes, delivering quicker gear changes and a more aggressive exhaust note.

Driver Experience
The G70 RWD 3.3T Sport Prestige is designed for drivers who appreciate a lively and responsive vehicle. The rear-wheel-drive setup, coupled with Michelin Pilot Sport tires, offers exceptional handling, making the car feel nimble on both city streets and winding roads. Steering feedback is excellent in Sport mode, while the electronically controlled suspension ensures a comfortable ride in Comfort mode. Despite its performance capabilities, the G70 remains quiet at highway speeds, making it an excellent daily driver.

Safety
Genesis has packed the G70 with a comprehensive suite of safety features, including forward collision avoidance, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. The vehicle also comes equipped with nine airbags and a blind-spot view monitor, which activates cameras to provide live views when signaling for lane changes. Genesis’ Highway Driving Assist is another highlight, offering semi-autonomous driving capabilities.

Conclusion
The 2024 Genesis G70 RWD 3.3T Sport Prestige is a luxury sports sedan that impresses with its blend of performance, comfort, and high-tech features. With its thrilling acceleration, sharp handling, and plush interior, it stands as a formidable competitor in the luxury market. While rear seat space is limited, the overall package offers excellent value, especially when considering Genesis’ generous warranty and service plans.
