2023 Toyota Prius Limited Review

The Prius has been around since 1997 when it first became available in Japan. Toyota has a lot of experience, perhaps the most, in hybrid vehicles and it shows with the new 2023 Toyota Prius Limited.

There are some big changes in this model year but the right things stay the same. The first thing you notice is the exterior design. This Prius has more curb appeal than any other iteration. Once you get behind the wheel, you can feel the difference in horsepower and it still gets close to 57 MPG City. Toyota also makes it an extremely well priced hybrid option with its modest MSRP starting at $27,450, The Limited starts at $34,465.

Exterior:

The first thing I noticed while walking up to the 2023 Toyota Prius Limited  is the futuristic, sporty look. It definitely has more curb appeal than any other model year. I believe the sleek profile, sculpted lines, and bold front grille will appeal to the Prius base and also reach a new audience of drivers as well. The LED headlights and taillights not only enhance visibility but also add a touch of sophistication. The Prius Limited features 17-inch alloy wheels and a rear spoiler, further enhancing its sporty and stylish presence.

Interior:

Step inside the 2023 Toyota Prius Limited, and you’ll find a well designed and comfortable cabin. The spacious interior provides ample headroom and legroom for both the driver and passengers. I found the seating to be comfortable and spacious and I am a driver that is over 6ft tall. Toyota makes good use of the space and it has a lot more room than it looks from the outside.

High-quality materials, soft-touch surfaces, and modern finishes add more value to this model year Prius. The Prius Limited offers features such as SofTex-trimmed seats, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel, adding a luxurious touch to the driving experience.

The technology displays are functional and add to the futuristic vibe that Toyota is giving with this newly designed Prius. The 7 inch multi informational display coupled with the noticeable 12.3 in Toyota Audio Multimedia Display is easy to navigate.

It comes with wireless Apple CarPlay® * & Android Auto™ * compatibility, USB media port, hands-free phone capability and music streaming * via Bluetooth wireless technology. You have Six USB-C charge ports — two front/two in center console/two in the rear.

Engine and Transmission:

The 2023 Toyota Prius Limited is equipped with a hybrid powertrain that combines a 2.0-Liter, 4-cylinder DOHC 16-valve with Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i), it generates 150 hp @ 6000 rpm, 139 lb.-ft. @ 4400-5200 rpm. The Permanent magnet AC synchronous motor delivers (83 kW, 111 hp).

This FWD setup delivers impressive fuel efficiency and reduced emissions. The hybrid system is paired with an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission (ECVT), providing smooth and seamless acceleration while optimizing efficiency.

Options Packages:

The Prius Limited comes generously equipped with a wide range of features. While specific options packages may vary, available packages might include the Advanced Technology Package, which adds advanced safety features like adaptive headlights, a head-up display, and a premium JBL audio system. Additional options may include a power moonroof, wireless smartphone charging, and integrated navigation.

My test vehicle came with the Digital Rearview Mirror ($200) and the Limited Premium Package ($1,085).
