Exterior

The 2023 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro boasts a rugged and sporty exterior that embody its off-road capabilities. Its unique exterior graphics, styled with exclusive racing-inspired tri-color striped graphics, nods to its heritage and ensures that it stands out in the wild. My test vehicle is equipped with a 17-in. Matte Black TRD Pro wheels that can handle almost any trail or stream that comes your way.

The TRD Pro also comes with LED headlights and fog lights that provide greater visibility in the dark. And when you’re driving with reduced visibility, the TRD Pro’s standard LED fog lights help give you a clearer view of what’s ahead.

My Test version exterior paint is the eye catching Solar Octane which is an Orange/Red mix. One thing for sure, you will be able to find it in the Costco parking lot or anywhere else for that matter. It is one of a kind.

The 2023 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro’s interior is designed to keep you comfortable no matter where your off-road adventures take you. The TRD Pro features SofTex®-trimmed seats with TRD embroidered headrests, while accent stitching found throughout the interior lets you know it’s ready for action. For added comfort, the TRD Pro comes with heated and ventilated front leather-trimmed seats that will keep you warm on your way up the mountain and cool down when you’re under the desert sun. The TRD Pro also features a power tilt/slide moonroof that brings you closer to the great outdoors without leaving your seat.

Engine

The 2023 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro comes with a powerful 4.0-liter V6 engine that delivers up to 270 hp and 278 lb.-ft. of torque. It is known for reliability and power.

For even more control of your 4Runner’s capabilities, the TRD Pro also comes with an available 4WD system that provides high- and low-range options. Select High 2 (H2) for daily driving and for the best fuel efficiency, High 4 (H4) for more traction under 55 mph, and Low 4 (L4) when you need to drive slowly or help in trekking over difficult terrain.

Safety Features

The 2023 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro comes with an array of safety features that keep you and your passengers safe no matter what terrain you’re traversing. The TRD Pro features the Star Safety System™, a suite of six safety features designed to help keep you out of harm’s way. It includes Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control (TRAC), Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), Brake Assist (BA), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Smart Stop Technology® (SST).

The TRD Pro also comes standard with the Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA), which helps you identify vehicles that might be in a blind spot. When you use your turn signal and BSM detects a vehicle, it warns you with a flashing indicator light on the appropriate outside mirror. The Rear Cross-Traffic Alert provides audible and visual indicators to help warn you of approaching vehicles when you’re slowly backing out of a driveway or parking spot.

Popular Options Package

One of the most popular options package for the 2023 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro is the Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (KDSS). The available KDSS helps the TRD Pro make molehills out of mountains. When taking on extreme off-road terrain, this system is designed to automatically decouple the TRD Pro’s sway bars as needed, helping improve wheel articulation. And when the terrain goes back to smooth and flat, the sway bars are designed to automatically reconnect.

Another popular options package available for the 2023 4Runner TRD Pro is the “Premium Package.” This package includes amenities such as heated and ventilated front seats, a power moonroof, a premium JBL audio system, and additional advanced driver-assistance features, further enhancing the vehicle’s comfort and convenience.

Don’t forget the  Multi-Terrain Select (MTS) system. When you’re in the thick of it, you can activate 4Runner’s available MTS system for optimized traction. Just choose from four terrain modes, and this system helps regulate wheelspin by automatically adjusting the engine throttle and traction control.
