# 2021 Mazda CX-30 Turbo Review
This week I had the opportunity to test drive the 2021 Mazda CX-30. The CX-30 is a stylish crossover SUV that offers great maneuverability and a sleek exterior design. The model I tested was the 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus Trim in Machine Gray Metallic with a Black/Brown Interior.
## Exterior
The exterior of the 2021 Mazda CX-30 features Signature LED headlights and taillights, black power side mirrors, gloss black front grille, a power sliding-glass moonroof, and 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels. The ground clearance is 8 inches, enhancing its overall look.
## Interior
The interior of the Turbo Premium Plus Trim includes a Black and Brown interior theme. The cockpit is driver-centric, creating a fun driving experience. The seats are upholstered in black leather, and the infotainment system boasts an 8.8-inch display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. The Mazda Connected Services and Bose 12-speaker premium audio system add to the tech features.
## Engine/Powertrain
The Turbo Premium Plus Trim is equipped with a 250 hp SKYACTIV-G 2.5 Turbo engine with i-ACTIV AWD, offering improved acceleration and handling. The Non-Turbo trims come with a 186 hp SKYACTIV-G 2.5 engine with FWD as standard. The Turbo engine provides 22/30/25 MPG fuel efficiency.
## Turbo Premium Plus Trim Option
The Premium Plus package, exclusive to the Turbo models, includes advanced safety features like Smart City Brake Support Reverse, Rear Cross-Traffic Braking, and Traffic Jam Assist. The 360° View Monitor and front and rear parking sensors enhance safety and convenience.
## Safety
The Mazda CX-30 has received a 5-star overall safety rating from the NHTSA for 2020 and is a Top Safety Pick by the IIHS. Safety features on the Turbo Premium Plus Trim include Driver Attention Alert, Dynamic Stability Control, High Beam Control, Lane-Keep Assist, Mazda Radar Cruise Control, Smart Brake Support, and Blind Spot Monitoring.
## Conclusion
The 2021 Mazda CX-30 Turbo Premium Plus is a compelling option for those looking for a compact crossover SUV. While it may lack comfort for taller drivers on long road trips, its appeal as a daily driver is undeniable. The starting price for the base model is $22,050, with the version I tested priced at $35,895.
