2021 Durango SRT Hellcat
The 2021 Durango SRT Hellcat

My experience with the 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat began with an intriguing pre-delivery email reminding me of the responsibility that comes with great power. It ended with an encouraging “have a blast” message, and blast I did indeed have. This SUV provided me with one of the most exhilarating driving experiences ever.

The 2021 Durango SRT Hellcat boasts impressive performance stats, including going from 0-60 mph in just 3.5 seconds, a quarter-mile elapsed time of 11.5 seconds certified by the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA), a top speed of 180 mph, and outperforming the SRT 392 by 1.5 seconds on a 2.1-mile road course, equivalent to 9 car lengths after one lap.

The eye-catching Demonic Red / Black interior of the vehicle attracts attention and admiration from onlookers. The exterior design of the 2021 Durango SRT Hellcat is modern and aggressive, featuring a new front fascia, LED high and low headlamps, signature LED daytime running lamps (DRL), sculpted hood, grille, rear spoiler, and various wheel options. The 20-inch-by-10-inch machined faced wheels with Mid-gloss Black accents look stunning, especially paired with the Pirelli Verde Zero 295/45ZR20 BSW All-Season Tires.

The interior of the Durango SRT Hellcat is equipped with optional High Performance Laguna Leather Seats in Demonic Red, providing a luxurious feel. The cockpit is driver-centric, featuring a refined and high-tech dash and instrument panel. The vehicle also includes a fully electronic performance-inspired shifter for the TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission, offering a traditional linkage shifter experience.

For entertainment and comfort, the optional rear DVD Entertainment Center and the optional 19 Harman Kardon® Amped Speakers with Subwoofer 825-Watt Amplifier were added to the test vehicle. The Hellcat offers a world-class design in both its exterior and interior.

The 2021 Durango SRT Hellcat is powered by a supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI® Hellcat V-8 engine paired with a TorqueFlite 8HP95 eight-speed automatic transmission, delivering an impressive 710 horsepower and 645 lb.-ft. of torque. The vehicle joins the Challenger and Charger in Hellcat form, upholding Dodge’s legacy of muscle cars.

New for 2021 is the R/T with the Tow N Go Package, providing unmatched towing capabilities of 8,700 lbs. The package includes SRT wheels and tires, Brembo brakes, flares and sills, exhaust with tips, and a lower valance, offering great value for the price.

The 2021 Durango SRT Hellcat is packed with safety features to handle its power responsibly. Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop, Blind-spot Monitoring, Rear Cross Path detection, Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking, Advanced Brake Assist, and LaneSense Lane Departure Warning with Lane Keep Assist come standard.

The 2021 Durango SRT Hellcat is a standout SUV that combines performance, style, and value. With its exceptional power, attention-grabbing looks, and well-crafted interior, the Hellcat is sure to make an impression. Dodge excels in every aspect with the Hellcat, making it a top choice for enthusiasts looking for a thrilling driving experience.

Dodge earned the title of “#1 Brand in Initial Quality” in June 2020, a testament to its commitment to excellence. The SRT version is now available across the entire Dodge lineup in 2021, expanding the reach of high-performance offerings.

The starting MSRP for the 2021 Durango SRT Hellcat is $80,995, with the tested version priced at $95,730.
