Having a supercar comes with its own expenses. Even routine maintenance can take a toll on your finances. However, the most significant worry for any supercar owner is the uncertain reliability of the vehicle.

Jay Leno believes that the Mercedes SLR McLaren is quite reliable as a supercar. Nonetheless, the owner of this SLR has a different story to tell. The car has been troubled with issues right from the day of purchase. The most shocking problem was the odd noise coming from the rear brakes.

The Mercedes SLR comes equipped with carbon-ceramic brakes, and replacing them could cost almost as much as purchasing a new E-Class. Reportedly, a set of rear brakes amounts to $58,000!

Luckily, this SLR owner managed to find a solution to his dilemma, saving him a significant sum of money.

Manny Khoshbin owns nine of these cars. One can only imagine the expenses involved in maintaining these remarkable machines.

This scenario highlights the high cost of owning a supercar. If you are considering buying a Mercedes SLR McLaren, it’s advisable to have the brakes inspected before making the purchase.
