The new Audi RS3 for 2022 brings a fresh take on small sedans, promising impressive driving dynamics and a powerful performance. Compared to its predecessor, the 2022 model comes with increased dimensions, more assertive styling, and a robust 401-horsepower engine for exhilarating acceleration.

While sharing the platform with the A3 and S3 models, the RS3 distinguishes itself with enhancements that elevate its sportiness beyond the S3. The RS3 sits lower than the standard A3 and boasts a wider front track compared to the previous generation RS3. The exterior design remains sophisticated yet subtly aggressive, featuring a prominent black grille, bold air intakes, and darkened headlights at the front, while the rear sports a discreet lip spoiler, updated bumper with gloss black accents, and dual oval exhaust tips.

Under the hood, the RS3 houses a turbocharged 2.5-liter inline 5-cylinder engine generating 401 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque, offering a slight power bump compared to the previous iteration. Notably, the North American variant benefits from a power advantage over European models, omitting the particulate filter for a louder exhaust note. Though initial turbo lag is present, the RS3 delivers a thrilling driving experience once in motion.

The robust engine enables the RS3 to accelerate from 0-60 mph in a brisk 3.6 seconds, showcasing improved performance over its predecessor. Beyond straight-line speed, the RS3 incorporates Quattro all-wheel drive with a new RS Torque Rear Splitter rear differential for enhanced control over torque allocation and lateral torque-vectoring capabilities, maximizing agility around bends.

Equipped with six driving modes, the RS3 allows drivers to tailor power distribution to suit their preferences. From the front-biased Comfort mode to the rear-oriented Dynamic mode, and specialized RS Torque Rear and RS Performance modes for more spirited driving scenarios, the RS3 offers versatility to match various driving conditions. The RS Individual mode provides customizable settings for powertrain, suspension, steering, and exhaust tone preferences.

Enhancing the driving experience further, the RS3 features a new RS Sport adaptive suspension with hydraulically adjustable dampers, replacing the previous magnetic units. The suspension adjusts dynamically based on the selected drive mode, with firmer settings enhancing cornering performance while maintaining a comfortable ride quality, setting the stage for an engaging driving experience.

With a starting price of $59,995, the 2022 Audi RS3 comes generously equipped with a 12.3-inch digital cluster, premium Nappa leather sport seats, panoramic sunroof, and a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen supporting wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Boasting a potent 401-horsepower engine and refined suspension, the RS3 offers an attractive value proposition for enthusiasts seeking a small, performance-oriented sedan.

For those in search of a spirited, compact sedan with exceptional driving dynamics, the 2022 Audi RS3 is a compelling choice that delivers sheer driving enjoyment.
