2021 Toyota Avalon XSE Hybrid

The 2021 Toyota Avalon XSE Hybrid is a  stylish and comfortable sedan that gets great gas mileage. This car is a great long distance cruiser and has plenty of interior space. The Ruby Flare Pearl exterior looks sharp and overall the car was great to drive.

Highlights

The highlights for me were the interior, comfort and quality, performance and gas mileage. The Avalon is well equipped for the price and brings a lot of value. The warranty and all the extras really add up in my opinion and I would expect more of a price tag on this kind of automobile.

Driver Experience

The Avalon XSE handles well and the ride is on the firmer side. This is largely due to a sport-tuned front and rear suspension. The cabin is quiet and doesn’t pick up a lot of road noise. Toyota has put a lot of effort into the  aerodynamics which has improved fuel efficiency and vehicle quietness. The Avalon is a great commuter and also a nice long distance vehicle where 4 adults would be comfortable for long durations of time. The Hybrid is something to be seriously considered if you drive more than 10-12k miles per year.

Interior

The Toyota Avalon XSE interior is stylish, well-designed and roomy. The seats are really comfortable and look upscale. Both front seats are heated and 8-way power adjustable which is something passengers usually miss out on in a lot of cars. Overall the interior is a nice blend between upscale and comfort. A 9-inch multimedia touchscreen supports Apple CarPlay and Alexa-enabled device connectivity along with new for 2021 Android Auto. A backup camera that is very functional with grid lines is provided. I recommend the optional 14-speaker JBL sound system package if music is important to you. It sounds great and when you are listening to your favorite tunes on a long road trip you will be happy you have it.

Exterior

The exterior of the Avalon is daring and the efficient flow of the design is evident even into the headlights and tail lights with sequential turn signal lighting. The 18 inch sport wheels compliment its distinctive design. The bottom line is the exterior is designed for looks and functionality.

Safety

The Avalon XSE is equipped with standard Toyota Safety Sense P, a great driver assistance system with Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Automatic High Beams, and Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control. The XSE adds standard Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross Traffic Alert.

Conclusion

The 2021 Toyota Avalon XSE Hybrid and other versions offer a lot of value for the money. If stylish looks, comfortable drive, roomy cabin and gas mileage are important then this may be the right car for you. The avalon offers a lot for the MSRP.
