**Toyota Supra 2022 Review: The Ultimate Fast & Furious Car**

The 2022 Toyota Supra comes equipped with powerful turbocharged engines and is known for its agility. It is a compact two-seater sports coupe and is considered the more potent of Toyota’s two sports cars. Competitors in its segment include the BMW Z4, Porsche 718, Jaguar F-Type, Toyota 86/Subaru BRZ, and even the Chevrolet Corvette. The Supra excels in delivering a thrilling sports car experience with nimble handling and ample power from both engine options. While it may lack interior space and have a firm ride, driving the Supra is always a fun and engaging experience. In its third year model, the 2022 Toyota Supra introduces the limited edition A91-CF (carbon fiber) Edition with only 600 units available. Additionally, some minor equipment adjustments have been made, and now Apple CarPlay covers the entire screen on models with the premium audio system.

The exterior of the 2022 Toyota Supra boasts aggressive lines, curves, and air scoops that make it visually striking. While the design is attractive, it may not exude the same elegance as the larger Toyota FT-1 concept it is based on. With its distinctive surface detailing and pronounced scoops, the Supra commands attention. It scores a 7 for style due to its bold exterior and well-organized interior layout. The Supra’s muscular rear haunches give it a poised stance reminiscent of a coiled predator ready to spring into action. Its classic sports car proportions feature a long hood and short rear deck, packing a plethora of design elements into a compact space. Despite the various character lines, curves, and ducts, the design remains bold and appealing.

The 2022 Supra stands out for its dynamic performance on the road. It is designed as a rear-wheel-drive sports car, delivering impressive power and agility. The base engine is a 2.0-liter turbo-4 producing 255 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque, propelling the car from 0-60 mph in 5.0 seconds. The quick-shifting 8-speed automatic transmission ensures responsive power delivery. For those seeking an extra thrill, the 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-6 engine generates 382 hp and 386 lb-ft of torque, enabling the Supra to accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 3.9 seconds. The turbo-6 engine offers a more exhilarating driving experience, accompanied by a captivating exhaust note.

With a sturdy chassis, advanced suspension systems, and wide tires, the Supra exhibits exceptional grip and sharp handling characteristics. The potent power, especially from the turbo-6 engine, can induce rear tire slip and enable dynamic cornering maneuvers. However, the short wheelbase may necessitate precise handling, particularly in sharp turns. While the ride quality is firm, it strikes a balance between sportiness and comfort. Models equipped with the turbo-4 engine feature 18-inch wheels that aid in absorbing road imperfections, albeit lacking adaptive dampers and electronic rear differential.

Despite its powerful performance, the compact size of the Supra contributes to decent fuel efficiency. The turbo-4 model achieves EPA ratings of 25 mpg city, 32 mpg highway, and 28 mpg combined, while the turbo-6 model returns EPA ratings of 22 mpg city, 30 mpg highway, and 25 mpg combined. Safety features include standard automatic emergency braking and lane control, with optional blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alerts, parking sensors, and adaptive cruise control. While stability control can be deactivated, it is recommended to keep it enabled due to the Supra’s responsive handling and ample power.

Inside the cabin, the Supra offers a minimalist design. The interior predominantly features black upholstery, with the option for red accents. The dashboard follows a horizontal layout, complemented by an 8.8-inch touchscreen display that integrates seamlessly. The wide center console includes a driver-centric design to enhance driving focus. The overall interior ambiance reflects a BMW influence, characterized by metallic trims and digital displays. Standard leather upholstery with synthetic suede inserts provides a premium feel, with higher trim levels offering full leather upholstery and refined touchpoints.

The Supra’s interior accommodates two occupants with limited cargo space. Accessing and exiting the vehicle may require some effort due to the low-slung profile, with the potential for head knocks and a reclined seating position. Despite the snug environment, the seats offer ample support and adjustability for comfort. Tall occupants may find legroom somewhat restricted due to the narrow cabin and high transmission tunnel. Cargo capacity is modest, with the hatch area offering 10.2 cubic feet of shallow storage space, typical of a small sports car.

Toyota offers a focused lineup for the 2022 Supra, catering to enthusiasts seeking performance and value. The model range includes turbo-4 and turbo-6 variants in 2.0, 3.0, and 3.0 Premium trims, as well as the exclusive A91-CF Edition. Standard features on the base 2.0 model, priced at $44,185, include manual seats, leather-Alcantara upholstery, carbon-fiber trims, an 8.8-inch gauge cluster, keyless start, satellite radio, an 8.8-inch center display, rear spoiler, and 18-inch alloy wheels.

The 3.0 Premium variant, priced at $55,685, offers enhanced features such as sport pedals, head-up display, 14-way power-adjustable sport seats with memory function, heated seats, a premium JBL audio system, navigation, wireless charging, and expanded brake options. The A91-CF Edition, priced at $64,275, showcases a carbon-fiber aero kit with distinctive design elements and a specialized interior theme. The Supra is backed by a standard warranty of 3 years/36,000 miles, including two years of complimentary maintenance.

The 2022 Toyota Supra stands out as a unique and exhilarating sports car, blending performance, design, and technology seamlessly. Its collaboration with BMW has resulted in a vehicle that embodies the best of both brands, offering a thrilling driving experience for enthusiasts. The Supra’s track-ready performance, precise handling, and advanced technologies make it a standout choice in the sports car segment.
