The Rivian R1T Truck Is This The Ultimate Game Changer?

Time and again we’ve had to contend with tiny bits and pieces of information about the appetizing Rivian R1T. Everything seems to be falling in place now there is yet additional revelation about the awaited game-changer.

From the specifications that have been released by the company, it is clear that the RT1 aims at giving more power output than anyone in its class has ever done or is aiming to do. This is to come via a wide range of bigger batteries that pack enough power to rival gasoline tankers.

It is being hinted that there are batteries that will do 230,300 and 400 miles. They are pitched at 105,135 and 180 kW. The mid-range 135 kWh is touted as the quickest of all, performing 754 horsepower magic and a 0 to 60 mph time of 3.0 seconds. Every version of the R1T will be an all-wheel drive, with an electric motor at each wheel, and Rivian says that every R1T can tow more than 11,000 pound.

The company plans to have the first Rivian R1T in the market by late 2020. Prices are tagged to start at $69,000 for the 105-kWh version and the heavier battery bearing 180-kWh as the first one to be made.

Whatever comes out of the electric Rivian, we are certain it will be a game-changer. There is not as much competition on electric trucks as there is on other versions. In this consideration, each product that comes out of an automaker’s production line will be subject to thorough public scrutiny.
