The speculation surrounding the creation of a two-door coupe version of the Alfa Romeo Giulia has captivated enthusiasts for quite some time. It seems that the wait is finally over as the Italian automaker is reportedly in the process of resurrecting the GTV model, promising enhanced performance superior to the Giulia Quadrifoglio sedan. While the GTV will possess a unique identity, it will bear distinct resemblances to the Giulia. Here are some exciting enhancements that the new coupe will bring:
The GTV will be equipped with an 8.8-inch infotainment screen featuring voice-activated controls and seamless smartphone integration through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There will be options for a 3.5-inch screen, with higher trims boasting a larger 7.0-inch display. Powering the GTV will be a twin-turbocharged 2.9-liter V-6 engine, capable of delivering up to 600 horsepower (compared to the 505 horsepower in the Giulia Quadrifoglio).
Following the trend in premium models, electric power will offer an impressive range of up to 30 miles. The interior will showcase luxurious Alcantara leather upholstery, a sporty steering wheel, and enhanced front wheels. The GTV’s design, featuring a sloping roof, may slightly sacrifice headroom while maintaining generous legroom akin to the Guilia.
Reports suggest that the 2020 Alfa Romeo GTV will be priced around $43,000, which is nearly $5,000 more than the base trim of the Giulia. The revamped GTV Quadrifoglio variant could reach prices as high as $78,000. Despite leveraging its well-established brand name, Alfa Romeo finds itself in a fiercely competitive market segment.
