Infiniti has an exceptional approach to its car models. In many cases, the rationale for its car models is mind provoking. This is in particular because even without decades-old history or prior designs to borrow from, the marque still wants to amaze without with designs borrowed from the 1930s.
A case in point is the Prototype 9 single seat race introduced at Pebble Beach in 2017. Fast forward to the Prototype 10 and you will see an extraordinarily thoughtful design that is set to disrupt the segment in its own ways.
This comes as the design works towards electrifying every single car coming in 2021 or beyond. It specifically hints as to how brand’s cars might be altered in the electrified era.
This roofless single-seater has a rather shouting and attractive exterior that is also very inviting. Invisible large engrave, INFINITI is conspicuously spelled out on the side. The front carries an exciting architecture with slit-like headlights leaving the front clean with only the headlight and an inset Infiniti badge as the lone adornments.
A black chin spoiler has been enhanced with a flat thin underbody for aerodynamics assistance. You’ll also notice wide air intakes on the sides of the body taking in air to cool the rear-mounted electric motor as well as the battery pack.
It isn’t excepted that Infiniti will focus on single seaters at the moment but the prototype does give a good a clear outline of the company’s trajectory into the future. It depicts an insightful and well-meditated path to disrupt the status quo.
