The McLaren 720S was first seen at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show and is now due for an update. Although the car still looks modern with its eye-catching design, after five years, it’s time for a midlife facelift in the automotive industry.

McLaren is expected to unveil the refreshed 720S later this year. While the exact launch date is unknown, some details about the new model have surfaced.

Reports suggest that the 720S facelift will feature minor design changes to the front splitter and rear fascia. It will also offer Apple CarPlay connectivity. Interestingly, McLaren is considering replacing the fold-down instrument cluster with a fixed screen similar to the one in the Elva speedster.

The key highlight of the updated 720S will be an increase in performance. Rumors indicate that the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine will be tuned to produce 750 hp and may be paired with the same dual-clutch gearbox found in the McLaren 765LT.

Sources indicate that the revamped 720S will have a limited production run lasting around 2 years.
