When a crossover SUV can seat up to eight passengers and has 16 cup-holders, it’s clear that it’s designed for long trips where thirst needs to be quenched frequently.

The Hyundai Palisade is a noticeably large SUV with a modern and satisfying design. At 196.1 inches long, it’s evident that the Korean manufacturer wanted to make a bold statement.

The Palisade is equipped with a 3.8-liter V-6 engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, delivering 291 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. Buyers can choose between front-wheel or all-wheel drive.

In recognition of the benefits of its size, some Palisade trims offer a 5000-lb towing capacity, with certain models coming with a towing package. Notably, the first and second-row legroom stands out.

The Palisade provides a spacious 82.6 inches of legroom, although the third-row legroom is slightly more limited at 31.4 inches.

The SUV features a prominent 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, complemented by physical buttons for the sound system and climate control, for added convenience.

All trims include standard Android Auto and Apple Carplay compatibility, with the option to add navigation and a head-up display at an extra cost.

Furthermore, the Palisade can be remotely started using a key fob or the Blue Link smartphone app. This app can also help adjust climate control, lock/unlock doors, and locate the Palisade in a parking lot.

Hyundai states that some of these features can also be accessed through Android and Apple smartwatch apps. Additionally, the built-in intercom feature can be useful for communicating with passengers in the third row.

As a newly constructed vehicle with a focus on practicality, the Hyundai Palisade offers a unique approach. It is poised to be a strong competitor in its segment.
