Even though there are only 20 of the rare GT9-R cars in existence, the team at Porsche tuner 9ff believed that it needed some enhancements. After their modifications, this car, based on the Porsche 911, became one of the most impressive supercars of its time.
The 9ff GT9-R is equipped with a 4.0-liter six-cylinder boxer engine that produces an incredible 1120 horsepower. This immense power allows the modified 911 to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds, with a top speed reaching 257.2 mph.
In a further display of power, there is another version of the GT9 that can achieve 987 horsepower, an upgrade from the base model that boasts 750 horsepower. These vehicles are exclusive machines, designed for a select group of enthusiasts who appreciate high-performance vehicles.
The GT9-R transfers power to the rear wheels through either a six-speed manual gearbox or an optional sequential gearbox. The lower-powered model comes with a 5-speed Tiptronic gearbox.
During the time when the GT9-R was being refined, the TKR supercar from British automaker Keating had already claimed a top speed record of 255.8 mph, making it the fastest production car at that time. What often captivates us about supercars is not just the end result but the immense effort and engineering skill put into achieving such remarkable feats.
The team at 9ff operates under the motto “we don’t just build cars, we build your car,” emphasizing their dedication to crafting vehicles that deliver the ultimate driving experience.
