DelPhi Technology Is Working On A Concept Car To Serve Optimum Intelligent Driving

The kind of intelligence being injected into the automotive industry is somewhat mind-blowing. With each passing day, we are experiencing a higher new level of tech and a combination of elements that were hitherto unknown.

Its now commonplace for vehicles to help you make decisions based on weather conditions. It has again been taken several notches higher by UK based Delphi Technologies which is toying with a technology that can predict how the traffic ahead looks like. Amazing, isn’t it?

The primary goal of this concept, says Delphi, is to make vehicles more fuel efficient and to give drivers an extraordinary driving experience. There is also a lot of focus given on making vehicles safer with this kind of intelligence as highlighted by Delphi senior vice president and chief technology officer Mary Gustanski.

“We would all appreciate more intelligent driving from others around us, but such all-informed computer-controlled ‘Intelligent Driving’ could make our vehicles nearly as smart as the most attentive and experienced driver to help keep us out of trouble,” Mary poses.

The main focus given by this automotive startup is in the integration of its propulsion controller. If it is effected, it would ultimately “rule (or maybe replace) not only your vehicle’s engine and transmission controllers but also, for electric and hybrid vehicles, both power inverter and battery management systems.”

Vehicle intelligence has become the main focus in the improvement of vehicle performance. Although so much has been done to this end so far, it is also clear that a lot more is happening behind the scenes and it will positively affect the way future vehicles touch the tarmac.
