It takes a keen eye to spot significant differences in the 2019 Audi TT coupe compared to its predecessor. However, the 2019 model offers new engines, added standard features, and enhanced exterior design.
The 2019 Audi TTS will feature a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine with varying power outputs in three trims – 40 TFSI, 45 TFSI, and 45 TFSI Quattro. The base 40 TFSI engine generates 197 horsepower and 236 pound-feet of torque.
The 45 TFSI and TFSI Quattro engines produce 245 hp and 272 lb-ft of torque, while the Audi TTS 2.0-liter engine delivers 306 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque.
The front-wheel-drive 40 TFSI and 45 TFSI models offer a choice between a six-speed manual or seven-speed S Tronic transmission, while the 45 TFSI Quattro trim comes exclusively with the S Tronic transmission.
The TTS comes standard with Quattro all-wheel drive and the seven-speed S Tronic transmission. Audi has increased the standard features in the base TT model for 2019.
Standard features now include Audi drive select dynamic handling, heated mirrors, light and rain sensors, a multifunction steering wheel, and the Audi virtual cockpit. Additionally, illuminated USB ports and Bluetooth connectivity are included.
Seventeen-inch wheels come standard on the TT, with 18-inch wheels on the TTS. Optional wheel sizes range from 19 to 20 inches.
Audi has announced the release of two special edition models. The “Audi TT 20 years” anniversary model is limited to 999 units and draws inspiration from the 1995 Roadster concept. It features arrow gray paint, Matrix OLED rear lights, glossy metal gray 19-inch wheels, stainless steel tailpipes, and a unique badge design.
The TTS Line Competition, the other special model, enhances the S line exterior package for a distinctive look. It includes an additional sport screen in the Audi virtual cockpit and contrasting colored stitching in the interior.
Audi has a history of delivering on its promises, and the 2019 Audi TTS is expected to embody the brand’s commitment to quality and innovation.
