How You Can Make Yellow Fog Lights Great Again

**How Yellow Fog Lights Can Improve Your Driving Experience**

It is common for drivers to confuse headlights with fog lights. To put it simply, headlights are used for driving at night under normal conditions, while fog lights are crucial during adverse weather conditions or situations where visibility is significantly reduced due to factors like fog, smoke, sand, or dust.

Fog lights typically come in white or “selective yellow.” Selective yellow is different from the amber or orange light used in turn signals. It is a softer shade of yellow that reduces glare by removing the blue undertones of white light.

Yellow fog lights gained popularity for their ability to disperse water particles in fog, improving visibility, and also for their aesthetic appeal.

Though yellow fog lights had a moment of popularity in the early 2000s, regulations in many countries now mandate white light for headlights, and advancements in modern headlights have overshadowed the use of yellow fog lights. However, there is a growing sentiment to revive the use of yellow fog lights.

The rally heritage of vehicles like the Subaru WRX truly shines when equipped with yellow fog lights, especially in snowy conditions.
