Today, Porsche revealed that the debut of the new Porsche 911 GT3 RS will take place on August 17 at 11:00 am ET via livestream.

The live stream will be exclusively available at https://newstv.porsche.com/en/, and a full recording will be accessible on all major social media platforms following the event.

This news is highly anticipated by Porsche enthusiasts and car fans who have been eagerly awaiting official news from Stuttgart after months of hints from a test mule and various speculations.

This unveiling will also mark the introduction of the first 911 RS variant for the current 992-generation, adding to the existing lineup of GT cars, which includes the GT3 and GT3 Touring models released last year.

Well Worth the Anticipation

The upcoming GT3 RS is expected to be a game-changer, which is no surprise from the renowned German automaker. Notably, it will adopt the latest GT3’s “Cup-inspired” double wishbone front suspension design.

Porsche has highlighted significant enhancements in aerodynamics and chassis for the RS model. The latest prototype of the car has been seen featuring an active rear wing.

While specifics on power figures have been kept under wraps, Andreas Preuninger, Director GT Model Line, mentioned:

“The new 911 GT3 RS is even more optimized for track use than its predecessors. The high-revving four-liter, six-cylinder boxer engine with around 500 PS is ideal for track days and club sport events. Thus, our focus in developing the new 911 GT3 RS has primarily been on aerodynamics and chassis aspects.”

Despite the secrecy, expectations are that the upcoming RS model will surpass the current GT3 in power output. A potential increase of 30-40 PS aligns with past tendencies. Speculations suggest a 4.2-liter engine might be at play, but concrete details are eagerly awaited.

Stay tuned for further updates on the new Porsche 911 GT3 RS, and be sure to catch the livestream. For now, check out the teaser video on Porsche’s official Instagram page via the link below:
