Let’s clear it up first: it’s not “three double zero zero eight” but Peugeot three thousand and eight! This redesigned small SUV has embraced the current trend for bold styling, moving away significantly from its predecessor’s design.
One of its key strengths is its size. The Peugeot 3008 falls between the medium and small SUV categories, making it easy to maneuver and park in city streets while offering ample space inside for practical needs. Though the previous diesel-electric Hybrid4 model won’t have a direct replacement (a petrol-electric plug-in hybrid is scheduled for 2019), the new 3008 is introduced with a modern lineup of three and four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, along with manual and torque converter automatic gearboxes.
The engine options range from a 129 bhp 1.2-liter to a 162 bhp 1.6-liter petrol engine, delivering fuel efficiency between 48.7 and 55.4 mpg. While a small petrol engine might seem unconventional for an SUV, it suits urban driving and accommodates those with lower to moderate annual mileage.
The Peugeot 3008 is offered in various trim levels: Active, Allure, GT Line, GT Line Premium, and GT, featuring an 8.0-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch instrument panel as standard.
Referred to by Peugeot as a “head up” display, it’s not the type projected onto the windshield but a raised screen positioned above the steering wheel. The vehicle is equipped with digital radio, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a wireless charging pad, and satellite navigation, offering a modern and convenient driving experience.
