Engaging in high-level motoring feats can be challenging even for seasoned drivers, with places like the demanding Nürburgring, known as the Green Hell, pushing limits that go down in history. In a groundbreaking move, the Ford Mustang RTR 2019 made waves at the Nürburgring Nordschleife.

Renowned professional drifter Vaughn Gittin Jr. achieved a remarkable feat by becoming the first person to successfully drift the notorious 12.9-mile (20.7 km) Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit, showcasing exceptional skill and sheer enjoyment without focusing on setting a lap time. His weapon of choice? The Ford Mustang RTR drift car.

Exclusive to RTR Vehicles and Ford, only 500 Mustang RTR Series I models will be manufactured, with deliveries scheduled to kick off in early 2019 through Ford dealers.

The Mustang RTR boasts distinctive features such as 19-inch wheels (9.5-inch-wide fronts and 10-inch rears), an upgraded RTR rear spoiler, RTR floor mats, a personalized shift knob, and puddle lamps, all encapsulated in RTR’s signature design.

RTR vehicles emphasize that each part of the vehicle is not just for looks but also plays a critical role in enhancing the car’s performance.

This vehicle exudes confidence in its road prowess and stands out in its league with few competitors in sight. Chief drifter Gittin pushed the boundaries by shredding through three sets of tires, hitting speeds up to 240 km/h in sixth gear through challenging bends.

The exceptional performance of the car left Gittin in awe, describing the experience as refreshing and exhilarating. He expressed, “When we stopped for the first tire change I was elated. I had to catch my breath, which is something I have never experienced behind the wheel since I was a rookie in Formula Drift.”

With its remarkable capabilities, the Ford Mustang RTR 2019 is set to continue delivering jaw-dropping performances, whether conquering Germany’s Green Hell or thrilling audiences worldwide.
