Automakers are targeting a segment of discerning buyers who carefully consider their automotive choices. Mitsubishi has introduced the Mitsubishi Eclipse, which will enter its second year in 2019. It aims to compete with established models like the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4.
The Eclipse is equipped with a turbocharged 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine delivering 152 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque when using regular unleaded gasoline. Paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT), the base ES trim offers front-wheel drive, while higher trim levels include all-wheel drive.
Mitsubishi has indicated that there will be minimal changes to the 2019 Eclipse. However, new additions will include features like the FAST-Key passive entry system with push-button start, a 7.0-inch Smartphone Link Thin-Display Audio System, an LCD color multi-information display with high-contrast meters, and heated front and rear seats.
The Eclipse stands out by combining a straightforward design with a stylish appearance in its class. As it enters its second year of production, the performance and reception of this vehicle will be closely observed.
