If a car ever embodied its name, it’s the Subaru Ascent. The Subaru brand has truly risen to new heights with the Ascent, making it more competitive in the market.
In recent times, car manufacturers have realized that consumers desire more space and car than they actually need. This shift in preference is evident in the increasing popularity of larger SUVs. Subaru, among others, has taken notice of this trend and has started producing vehicles tailored to suit the unconventional consumer.
Enter the Subaru Ascent, an eight-passenger, three-row vehicle designed with the future in mind. The Ascent comes equipped with a new turbocharged 2.4-liter flat-four engine that delivers 260 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque.
Subaru enthusiasts are familiar with the distinct sound that sets these vehicles apart from others. This new engine manages to retain the iconic boxer rumble while performing its duties reliably.
The base model features a 6.5-inch touchscreen display, which can be upgraded to an 8-inch touchscreen. Voice controls are standard on the Premium trim, and some models come with the advanced EyeSight driver assist system. Additionally, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available tech features to explore in the Ascent.
With its starting performance capabilities, the Ascent is poised to compete effectively in the three-row SUV segment. Although its zero-to-60-mph acceleration time of 6.9 seconds is slower than some V-6 rivals, the Ascent is expected to make a significant impact in the market.
