Recently, the Ford Fiesta Active has undergone some changes. It has become wider by 10 mm and higher by 18 mm. Additionally, it now features plastic body cladding and roof rails giving it a full 4×4 appearance. When Ford introduced the Active model, they aimed for it to make up around 15% of Fiesta sales, and this seems to be happening based on recent sales trends.
One notable upgrade in the Fiesta Active is the inclusion of three driving modes: Normal, Eco, and Slippery. The Slippery mode adjusts the car’s traction control system to provide better assistance on low-grip surfaces like snow or mud. The car also comes equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels.
Ford has made adjustments to the body sides to give it a more robust look. The redesigned grille has also significantly improved the overall appearance of the Fiesta Active.
Buyers of the Ford Fiesta Active can expect running costs similar to the standard Fiesta models with the same engine options. There are choices of 1.0-liter petrol engines, including the powerful 138 bhp EcoBoost 140 petrol engine, which boasts an impressive 54.3 mpg fuel consumption and CO2 emissions as low as 118 g/km.
For those who prefer diesel engines, Ford offers 84 and 118 bhp versions of the 1.5-liter TDCi engine with claimed fuel efficiencies of 70.6 mpg and 64.2 mpg respectively, and relatively low CO2 emissions of 103 g/km and 112 g/km.
In a time when cars are getting larger, finding a compact car that maintains a small size while delivering the performance and appearance of larger vehicles is a challenge.
