Despite the challenging times, some brands managed to thrive, and one such example was the James Flood book series, popular among car enthusiasts, especially in Australia.
Today, vehicles reviewed in this esteemed magazine, like the 1935 Lincoln Model K LeBaron Coupe, are highly sought after in auctions. The magazine once referred to this car as “The car of Presidents, Kings, gangsters and film stars” and “The fastest stock car in the post-war vintage years.”
The 1931 Lincoln Model K Convertible Roadster was a remarkable creation by Lincoln. It featured new styling, increased power, and a lower price point, making it more accessible to a wider audience with 120hp compared to the previous 90hp.
The distinctive body styling of the car captivated fans and enthusiasts with its elongated wheelbase of 145 inches, sleek rounded bumpers, and a lowered, stylish appearance. It also boasted trumpet horns and large bowl-shaped headlights, giving it a striking look in its time.
This car found favor among luxury car enthusiasts and stood out among its competitors. Unfortunately, a decline in sales led to the discontinuation of production of this iconic gem.
Most subsequent models ceased production in 1939, except for a unique 1942 model known as the “Sunshine Special.” Despite its short production run, this car enjoyed a cherished and full life among car enthusiasts.
