The Subaru Impreza has been a key player in the brand’s success over the years. As a result, a vehicle based on the Impreza has garnered significant interest—enter the Subaru Crosstrek.

The Subaru Crosstrek is a compact SUV built on the foundation of the manufacturer’s Impreza. Setting itself apart in several ways, it comes standard with all-wheel drive and seating for up to five passengers. Under the hood, it boasts a 152-horsepower, 2.0-liter flat-four engine that can be paired with either a six-speed manual or a continuously variable automatic transmission.

While not aimed at extreme off-road adventures, the Crosstrek offers a respectable 8.7 inches of ground clearance. Competing in the market against rivals such as the Honda HR-V, Jeep Renegade, Nissan Rogue Sport, and Hyundai Kona, the Crosstrek holds its ground.

Subaru has upped its game in 2019 with significant upgrades, including the availability of the brand’s EyeSight safety system in the Limited trim level and for the CVT-equipped 2.0i version. The EyeSight suite incorporates adaptive cruise control, automatic pre-collision braking, lane departure warning, and lane-keeping assist.

In line with Subaru’s tradition, the Crosstrek features a practical and robust interior design that emphasizes functionality. The StarLink infotainment system is user-friendly and comes equipped with a host of connectivity features as standard, making it easy to use on a daily basis.

A 6.5-inch touchscreen is standard across the lineup, offering seamless integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for smartphone users, alongside Bluetooth support and a USB port. The Limited and hybrid variants boast an 8.0-inch touchscreen with added features like SiriusXM satellite radio and support apps, while navigation is available as an option exclusively on models with the 8.0-inch display.
