The origins of the Ultima GTR can be traced back to 1983 when Lee Noble, also known for the Noble M600, designed the prototype.

Initially, parts of the Ultima were sourced from Renault vehicles, including the V6 engine. Later on, Ted Marlow took over the Noble brand and upgraded the Ultima with a larger engine.

The Ultima GTR was offered with two engine options, one of which featured the powerful LS1 V8 engine from the Corvette, enhancing its performance and legacy.

Equipped with a Chevrolet engine, a Porsche transmission, and a differential sourced from late-model 911s, the Ultima weighed around 2,314 pounds and could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.3 seconds.

The inclusion of the LS1 engine and transmission added approximately $42,000 to the cost of the kit car. Despite its weight, the Ultima GTR managed to achieve remarkable speed capabilities in a short time.

While the Ultima GTR may now be a relic of the past, the GTR Coupe continues to carry forward the legacy of the brand in the present era.

In essence, the Ultima GTR was not merely a fleeting presence in the supercar realm, but a vehicle that left a significant mark on the industry.
