Volkswagen Touareg 2020 Review: Bigger, Better & Powerful

Well, we’ve been scooping around to find out the correct meaning of the Toureg and we can candidly report that the pronunciation is more or less dependent on whom you ask. The guys down at VW insist that it is To-a-reg, but we also got variations such as Tawreg’ and Toerag’.

Never mind, the name is just a small part of this full-size SUV that has been around since 2002. We are interested in the third generation Touareg and boy, it has something you will truly fall in love with.

The third-generation Volkswagen Touareg has stepped up a great deal. It is Volkswagen’s new SUV range-topper and dives directly into positions occupied by the BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz GLE. If that doesn’t sound convincing enough, let it be known to you that you will write a check of up to $80,000 for this one.

With a new V6 TDI turbo-diesel engine this one breathes massive improvement and expectations to tackle the road with prowess. The cabin has also seen a undeniable growth.

The standard offer is a 9.2-inch center touchscreen with gimmicky (for now) gesture control surrounded by hard keys for the climate control, plus analogue instruments ahead of the driver flanking a portrait trip computer.

Volkswagen has always known that this one harbors great potential. And now, with the improvements it now harbors, we have no doubt it will do even better.
