Listen To Porsche 911 GT3 RS’ 4.0-Liter Engine With Rev Of Up To 9,000 RPM

Porsche 911 GT3 RS is one of the most loved sports cars out there. We must applaud the German car maker in its efforts to keep the internal combustion engine alive. While there is no denying that electrification is the future, all us auto enthusiasts want the ICE engine to stay available as long as possible. Porsche has been relentless in this regard. The company has developed synthetic fuels that can be used in place of the traditional gasoline. Hence, it is always a pleasure to watch a Porsche rev up to 9,000 rpm with its naturally aspirated engine.

Porsche 911 GT3 RS Top speed run

Youtube channel Sport Auto has this time brought to us a top speed run of the Porsche 911 GT3 RS. The on-board video shows us the way the needle climbs as the car gains momentum as well as the quick gear shifts as well. Don’t miss the engine’s symphony as well.

The Porsche 911 GT3 RS comes with a 4.0-liter NA engine. This is one of the most powerful versions of the motor plonked in any 911. The engine develops 518 HP @ 8,500 rpm, but the driver has upto 9,000 rpm to play with.

We do have to keep in mind that the 911 GT3 RS is not a top speed machine. It was never intended to break speed records, but it is amazing to watch the speeds increase in a track focused vehicle.

The official top speed of the Porsche 911 GT3 RS is 184 mph, but in the video the car managed 190 mph. This could be due to speedo calibration but it is impressive nonetheless.

Porsche 911 Turbo S : An even faster Porsche

If the 911 GT3 RS feels lacking in the top speed department, owners can instead choose the Turbo S. The Turbo S will manage to hit 205 mph before running out of steam. In fact, there is also the new 911 GT2 RS, which will be even faster. However, the car is still a couple of years away and might end up with a hybrid powertrain.
