The Vantage is a small proud car that easily transfers its pride to owners so that anyone who owns one will be easily noticeable. It is also gorgeous and supremely sporty. Even though it is the what may be termed as an entry-level Aston Martin, there’s nothing basic about this stunning British sports car.
The 2019 Aston Martin Vantage carries a 503 hp, 505 lb-ft turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 which mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The rear-wheel drive layout includes torque vectoring and an electronically controlled differential.
Standard features such as a modern 8-inch infotainment system, adaptive suspension, and a park assist system will be complemented by a full range of customization that are a hallmark of this premium brand. Dozens of paint finishes and interior materials will be available to personalize each Vantage down to the color of the speaker grille.
To give credit where its due, very few cars can truly be described as timeless as the Aston Martin V8 Vantage. This bold new look that the vantage wears for 2019 going forward serves it pretty well, especially when you consider the big changes under the skin.
The Vantage continues the ‘second century’ evolution and shares much with its grown-up big brothers, including the 503-hp, AMG-supplied 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 and Mercedes electrical architecture. Aston Martin’s insiders will tell you that the closer relative of the Vantage, the iconic DB11 is referred to as the ‘gentleman’ while the Vantage is the ‘hunter.’
This reference comes out clearer and nicer when you scrutinize the Vantage with some more interest.
