We understand that the 2018 Subaru Forester crossover SUV is in its last year before we see a redesigned version. So far, so good and we can still trust that redesigning will only make it far much better.
For now, enthusiasts will continue to be impressed by the simplified functionalities that the crossover SUV has offered over the years. Remember this is the car that won the Best Car To Buy award in the year 2014. We think it was for a good reason and it has endeavored to maintain its impressive appeal all along.
The 2018 version came with an option of two engines, a 2.5-liter flat-4, and a more powerful 2.0-liter turbo-4. There is no standard manual gearbox the all-wheel drive is standard. The 2.5-liter engine delivers 180 bhp and 239 Nm of torque.
There are more powerful comparisons in the same category such as the one carried by the 1.5 liter carried by the Honda CR-V producing 190 bhp. This doesn’t hamper the Forester’s competitiveness but rather bolsters its abilities.
On the technology front, the Forester has employed the company’s first DriverFocus technology, a feature that will simply not let the driver to doze off on the wheel. It uses facial recognition software to warn drivers who show signs of fatigue or get distracted behind the wheel.
The other part of this technology is that you can program the driver’s seat and through a dashboard-mounted camera, the car adjusts seats, mirrors, and the air-conditioning to suit your preferences. Quite some good stuff there, right?
