Maserati MC20 Cielo Officially Unveiled – And We Love It

Maserati has taken the wraps off the convertible version of the MC20 supercar. It’s called the MC20 Cielo, and we love it!

The MC20 is a gorgeous little coupe, and the Cielo takes it a step further. The car has a retractable hardtop that folds away in just 12 seconds. We think 143 lbs is a small price to pay for some wind in your hair and a gorgeous Italian automobile.

The MC20 Cielo is based on a lightweight monocoque, the same as the coupe. The rear decklid has been redesigned and now features dual buttresses. The roof also gets electrochromic glass that allows the passengers to adjust the amount of light that enters the cabin. Apart from that, the car looks exactly like the coupe.

It’s the same story under the skin. Powering the MC20 Cielo is a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine that develops 621 hp @ 7500 rpm and 538 lb-ft of torque at 3000 rpm. The motor is paired with a slick 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, which sends power to the rear axle. Maserati claims the open-top can sprint from 0-62 mph in 3 seconds and has a top speed just shy of 200 mph.
