Nissan took to social media asking fans to share ideas for the annual Overland Expo West show in Flagstaff, Arizona. The end result was a remodeling of a Nissan Armada into a one-off epic machine.
The Armada Mountain Patrol was designed with overlanding in mind. This simply means that every modification either helps it be a better off-roader or a more hospitable mobile campsite.
Nissan started with a stock 2018 Armada 4WD, bearing a 390-hp 5.6-liter V-8 and blend with a seven-speed automatic transmission. From there, Nissan added 17-inch Icon Bronze Rebound wheels wrapped in 35-inch Nitto Ridge Grappler tires, a Calmini 6-inch lift kit, and Icon coil-over suspension with extended A-arms.
There were reportedly very minimal changes to the Armada’s drivetrain. Fans for this project had more ideas. They voted to outfit the Armada further with a set of Baja Designs auxiliary lights and light bar.
It is fitted luxurious to a Rhino Rack Backbone roof-mounted cargo system. The interior got its fair share of modification as well, including a Lowrance navigation system, a Rugged Radios off-road radio system.
A refrigerator and freezer combo, Otterbox Venture cooler, and a set of extra storage trays to help keep things tidy around. The apex of these features is a roof-mounted tent that sleeps four people. It comes complete with a ladder that slides down when need be.
