A new Porsche 911 is coming soon. The current 8th-generation 911 is already five years old; hence a new one is expected soon. That said, the German sports car maker keeps very hush about the new car. The car is kept as a closely guarded sacred.
Next-gen Porsche Speedster: More Details
The new Porsche Speedster could debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show of 2023. While no photos of the car are yet available, the vehicle is likely to look very close to the last Speedster. The previous Speedster was on sale till 2020. As expected of Speedsters, this new one, too, will get a short but raked windscreen, a canvas top, and a large tonneau cover for the rear clamshell.
That said, while Speedsters traditionally lacked creature comforts, Porsche might offer a powered top as an option or even as standard equipment. There could also be additional storage space behind the seats.
Powertrain of the new Porsche 911 Speedster
Porsche will likely equip the Speedster with its signature naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six engine. This engine also does duty on the 911 GT3. The motor is good for 518 HP and 343 lb-ft of max torque. Due to the stripped-down nature of the Speedster, this engine would make the car pretty fast.
