Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport Stands High On Performance Test

When they settled on building the Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport, they settled on a few basic minimums that would make it great. Lightweight was key among them.

So ingrained was the need to watch weight that the program was known as Lightweight inside General Motors. It wasn’t just a hailed approach but one that put practicality to the test.

This car came around with some very impressive specs that were well accentuated by amazing aero components, large intakes, and vents across and wonderfully tweaked body. Under the skin was a 6.2L V8 engine that made enough energy with 485 horsepower. Sources say that the initial plan was to build only 125 examples for homologation purposes.

However, the project halted when only five C2 Corvette Grand Sport cars had been produced. As you can guess, they are among the most valuable Corvettes cruising the surface of the earth. The current version though is a masterpiece of art, craft, and science.

Borrowing from the looks of the Z06, Grand Sport brings around some of the most admirable driving abilities. You can’t fail to notice and fall in love with the upgraded aero and body components that make it stand gracefully everywhere and anytime.

It wears huge 19-inch wheels up front and 20-inch wheels in the rear. It is a beautiful sight to see.
