2021 Toyota GR Supra 2.0 Review

This week I test drove the very impressive 2021 Toyota GR Supra 2.0, the baby version of the 3.0. Even though it is entry-level, it performed quite well with a nice balance between speed and power.

A selection of Modern technology added to this vehicle helps it outperform most previous Supra models that came before it. The Supra 2.0 handles quite well on the road and is reasonably responsive when power is needed.

Exterior

The exterior of this very well-designed 2021 Toyota GR Supra 2.0 will easily steal your heart with the nose-to-ground design. It also has a sleek look and displays the double bubble cabin and the overall handsome design.

  • Smaller 18-inch wheels give it that nifty look of a sports car
  • It comes standard with Michelin Pilot Super Sport, F tires
  • Broad hips make it look a bit more aggressive while it displays well in light and dark colors
  • The exhaust setup is a bit smaller than the 3.0 version of this vehicle
  • Long thick doors give it a sleek display while the doors are quite heavy
  • A hunchback lift gate provides easy access to the trunk with no access button to open it
  • It is equipped with automatic leveling LED headlights and LED taillights, and LED daytime running lights
  • Every model comes equipped with a keyless entry and ignition feature
  • The well-rounded design of the Supra makes it look nice with the perky backside to improve overall aesthetics
  • A multilink rear suspension and a strut front suspension will improve the overall drive experience
  • With the eye-catching design, it is difficult to resist or ignore this car when you see it

Interior

When you get to the interior of the 2021 Toyota GR Supra 2.0 through the narrow entrance, you have that sporty feel sitting down. While it is a sports motor, you only have two front seats with ample leg and shoulder space at your disposal.

  • The two-seat capacity allows a lot of room for the driver and passenger
  • Both seats are covered with leather and Alcantara with a lot of support with firm padding
  • The seats can be adjusted manually with the controls easily within reach from the seat with good lumbar support
  • You have over 42 inches of leg space you can use for those with longer legs
  • There are about 38 inches of headroom with both front seats with space for helmets on the roof
  • An 8.8-inch media system comes with a clear and easy to read display, which is a BMW product
  • The dashboard is the same you will find in the BMW sports cars
  • Embedded navigation is added with some of the safety features included
  • The cabin of this Toyota Supra is nicely designed with a soft feeling plastic outlay
  • Also, the interior has a nice pattern with quality and dense look and feel to it
  • Small door pockets and a bin at the front of the center tunnel are some of the scared storage available
  • The trunk is also large enough to carry the luggage for only two people

Engine/Powertrain

The 2021 Toyota GR Supra 2.0 is equipped with a 2.0L Turbocharged and intercooled 4-cylinder gas engine. It is driven with 8-speed automatic transmission with a rear-wheel drivetrain and has a fuel economy of about 26 miles per gallon.

Special Options/Package

This version of the Supra 2.0 is about 170 pounds lighter than the big brother Supra 3.0and is around $8,000 cheaper. It still has quite an impressive power output of around 255HP and 295 pounds of torque, making it quite a powerful 2.0L engine.

Safety

The 2021 Toyota GR Supra comes with standard safety features, including:

  • Accident avoidance and lane departure warning
  • Pre and Post-collision safety system
  • Dua front-side mounted airbags
  • Traction and stability control
  • 4-Wheel ABS braking system and emergency braking assist

Conclusion

The 2021 Toyota Gr Supra 2.0 has everything you want from a standard sports car with some great features added in this model year. The standard selling price of this vehicle is around $47,745.
